Qualifications

• Process bank teller transactions accurately and timeously through predefined objectives.
• Balance and manage the cash float, restocking when limits are reached.
• Dispense and receive cash, cheques, travellers cheques, drafts over the counter.
• Encash cheques after verifying identification and account details.
• Be vigilant for fraud and report concerns to supervisor.
• Refer transactions beyond teller limits for authorisation.
• Capture all transactions and ensure proper authorisation.
• Count cash carefully to avoid errors.
• Reconcile cash at start/end of day and after restocking.
• Prepare reconciliation reports for audit and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to customers on cash and transactions to ensure smooth processing.
• Exhaust all attempts to resolve customer enquiries before escalating.
• Explain bank procedures and security requirements to customers.
• Report customer complaints through the Bank’s CCP process.
• Guide customers on how to complete transaction documents accurately.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to corporate image standards.
• Promote digital/self-help channels and assist customers to migrate to them.
• Identify and act on sales leads to meet branch targets.
• Follow up leads with Sales Consultants once agreed.
