Job summary

Edgexec (Pty) Ltd in Bellville is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the engineering function of a high-volume bakery manufacturing operation. You will balance maintenance execution with CAPEX planning, safety and financial control to maximise plant availability.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong bakery equipment knowledge and experience with CMMS to drive continuous improvement and reliable production.

Qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
Experience managing maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
Proven bakery equipment experience and familiarity with CMMS.

Responsibilities

Lead planned and unplanned maintenance scheduling, including maintenance-day execution and sign-off.
Conduct plant inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
Manage spares, stock controls and maintenance expenditure within budget.
Develop five-year CAPEX plans and advocate for CAPEX projects.
Drive plant availability and proper operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Perform root cause analysis on breakdowns and implement preventative actions.
Lead the maintenance pillar of the manufacturing excellence programme.
Monitor KPIs and provide accurate operational reporting.
Oversee R&M budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
