PepsiCo Inc. is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our bakery manufacturing environment in Johannesburg. You will drive EHS standards, engage with employees and contractors, and lead risk mitigation across the site to uphold a safe and healthy workplace.

The role requires hands‑on engagement, strong collaboration with line management, and the ability to influence safety improvements in a fast‑paced setting. 3–5 years of EHS experience within manufacturing is preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Environmental Health or OH&S.
• 3–5 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of South African OHS and environmental legislation.
• Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and compliance.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a small team would be advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Drive the implementation and maintenance of the site's EHS management systems, standards and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor compliance with applicable EHS legislation, regulations and company standards.
• Support incident, accident and near‑miss investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Track and report EHS performance, trends, incidents and key metrics.
• Develop and facilitate EHS awareness, induction and training programmes.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and visible safety leadership across the bakery.
• Provide EHS advice and guidance to operational teams and employees.
• Support emergency preparedness, including drills and related training.
• Monitor contractor and visitor compliance with site EHS requirements.
• Ensure EHS documentation, records and reporting are maintained.
• Partner with Production, Engineering and Quality to manage operational risks.
• Drive safety improvements relating to machinery, processes and ergonomics.
• Support machine safety and safeguarding requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce injuries and unsafe acts.
