Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician with a specialization in avionics to join the Tembisa-based operations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain avionics systems across a range of aircraft, ensuring airworthiness and compliance with aviation regulations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on avionics experience, a relevant trade qualification, and SA-CAA Part 66 license or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Aircraft Maintenance or Avionics, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on avionics-focused maintenance experience.
• SA-CAA Part 66 license or equivalent certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions using test equipment and manuals.
• Repair or replace faulty components and wiring per manufacturer specs.
• Conduct functional checks and ground tests of avionics systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and engineering orders to guide work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with flight crews and other maintenance staff to resolve issues.
• Stay updated on latest avionics technologies and techniques.
