Placements24 in Durban seeks a Senior Aviation Safety and Compliance Manager to design, implement, and maintain a robust Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure compliance with SA-CATS, ICAO, and related regulations. You will lead safety reporting, risk assessment, and incident investigations, driving a proactive safety culture across the organization in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in aviation safety, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in aviation safety management and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, SA-CATS, and other aviation safety regulations.
• Proven experience developing and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Strong risk management, accident investigation, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
• Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (SA-CATS, ICAO).
• Oversee safety reporting systems: hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
• Lead incident and accident investigations with root-cause analysis.
• Promote proactive safety culture across the organization.
• Develop and deliver safety training for all staff.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and industry bodies on safety matters.
• Maintain safety performance metrics and reporting frameworks.
• Manage safety assurance program and regulatory documentation.
