Placements24 seeks an Aircraft Ground Support Engineer to join its Vereeniging operations. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of ground support equipment (GSE) and assisting with aircraft turnarounds to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a solid understanding of aviation safety procedures. A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain aviation clearances are required.

Qualificações

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with ground support equipment or heavy machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of aviation ground operations and safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment, often outdoors.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain relevant aviation clearances.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain, inspect, and repair all ground support equipment (GSE), including tugs, loaders, and de-icing units.
• Perform routine checks and servicing on aircraft auxiliary power units (APUs) and other ground systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with GSE and related equipment.
• Ensure all GSE is operated and maintained in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with aircraft marshalling, baggage handling, and cargo loading as needed.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and operational issues during aircraft turnarounds.
