Job summary

Placements24 in Benoni seeks a dedicated Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to maintain a fleet of baggage tugs, belt loaders and aircraft stairs at the airport. You will conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to ensure reliability and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanic with ground support or heavy machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Able to read service manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver's license; a special GSE license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on GSE vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and repair as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections of all equipment before and after use.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and parts inventory.
• Operate specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
