Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to maintain the fleet of essential airport vehicles and equipment in Benoni. The role involves inspection, maintenance, and repair of GSE such as baggage tractors, de-icers, and tow vehicles, in a hands-on, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will have proven mechanical experience, strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment or automotive repair.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on GSE.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on GSE fleet.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs for all serviced equipment.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Operate and test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Respond to emergency repair needs to minimize equipment downtime.
