Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic in Benoni to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of airport ground support vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role requires hands-on proficiency with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics, along with a commitment to safety and quality in a dynamic airport environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment or automotive repair.
• Strong understanding of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and power/hand tools effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and preventive repairs on all GSE types.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace worn components, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance in the equipment logbook.
• Ensure GSE is kept in safe working order and compliant with standards.
