Job summary

South African Airways Technical (SAAT) seeks a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to lead asset plans, maintenance and related procurement for 85 hectares of SAAT facilities, including OR Tambo and line stations. You will ensure regulatory compliance and drive cost-effective maintenance strategies.

Ideal candidates have an engineering background with 7–10 years in management, strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder management within the aviation sector.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent (NQF 4) required.
• National Higher Diploma, B-Tech or Bachelor of Engineering required.
• 7–10 years in engineering/maintenance management, incl. 3 years in a management role.
• Aviation industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop facilities management master plans and asset strategies.
• Oversee maintenance projects, budgets and procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FAA/EASA/CAA requirements.
• Lead service providers to achieve SLA targets and cost control.
