Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Planner to schedule and optimize aircraft maintenance, ensuring fleet availability and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with maintenance, engineering and stores to prepare work packs, monitor progress, and continuously improve maintenance planning to minimize downtime and costs.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and proactive Aviation Maintenance Planner to join their operations in Upington. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of aircraft maintenance activities, optimizing fleet availability, and managing resources effectively. You will work closely with maintenance teams, engineering, and supply chain to create detailed maintenance plans that comply with regulatory requirements and operational needs. This position demands excellent planning skills, a strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, and the ability to manage complex schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and manage routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance plans in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and stores departments to ensure the availability of parts, tooling, and personnel.
• Prepare detailed work packages for maintenance tasks, including necessary documentation and procedures.
• Monitor the progress of maintenance activities, making adjustments to the plan as needed to address unforeseen issues.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA) and company policies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing maintenance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aviation Maintenance Planner or in a similar planning role within aircraft maintenance.
• Solid understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, regulations, and airworthiness directives.
• Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance instructions, and regulatory documents.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
