Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Embedded Software Developer in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will design, develop, and implement embedded software for ECUs and ADAS using C/C++ in RTOS environments, adhering to MISRA/C standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE or related field.
• 4+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ in embedded environments.
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS or QNX.
• Understanding of microcontroller architectures.
• Familiarity with automotive protocols (CAN/LIN/SPI/I2C).
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR and MISRA standards.
• Strong debugging, analysis, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and debug embedded software for automotive ECUs using C/C++.
• Adhere to automotive standards like MISRA C/C++.
• Work with RTOS and develop low‑level drivers and BSPs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews and the full software lifecycle.
• Create technical docs including design specs and test reports.
• Perform unit/integration/system testing for quality.
• Troubleshoot defects and performance issues during development.
• Stay updated with advances in embedded/automotive tech.
• Contribute to process and tool improvements.
