Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Automotive Electronics Integration Engineer to coordinate ECU interfaces, troubleshoot integration issues and validate system performance at our Paarl facility. The role requires hands-on collaboration with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless vehicle electronics integration.

The ideal candidate will have a 4+ year track record in automotive electronics, strong knowledge of CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet, use of diagnostic tools, and an analytical mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in automotive electronics integration or related area.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical architectures and ECU functionalities.
• Proficiency with CAN, LIN and Automotive Ethernet communication protocols.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of embedded software development and debugging is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate ECUs and systems to ensure interoperability and proper communication.
• Develop and execute test plans for electronic system integration focusing on functionality and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software integration issues with cross-functional teams.
• Define and manage interface specifications between ECUs and subsystems.
• Use diagnostic tools and oscilloscopes to analyze system behavior and troubleshoot problems.
• Document integration processes, test results and resolutions clearly.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to meet integration requirements.
• Participate in system-level testing and validation activities.
• Stay updated on emerging automotive electronics technologies and best practices.
