Job summary

FirstRand Limited in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Test Analyst to create, debug and maintain automated test scripts, and to verify that changes meet business requirements while preventing defects in live systems.

The role involves executing test plans, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality across user interfaces, data flow and security. 2+ years in technical testing and BaNCS exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in technical testing roles.
• Custody experience with the BaNCS application.
• Familiarity with financial instruments.
• Exposure to Jira, Confluence, MQPublisher or similar.
• Understanding of network architecture and data flow in trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectiveness.
• Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers' expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast and effectively.
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with stakeholders including end-users, SMEs, PMs and senior staff by providing input to business requirements.
• Build and sustain collaborative working relationships to achieve productivity synergies.
• Conduct test plans including regression testing, system analysis and reviews.
• Create design steps from test cases, execute system validation plans and compile test scripts.
• Conduct systems analyses, design, coding, program debugging, testing and security and performance assessments across user interfaces.
• Comply with governance in IT development and test environment changes.
• Create test scripts to test enhancements and new requirements and execute automated test scripts.
• Execute all test activities for allocated projects with proper test estimation and sign-off, aligning test and production environments.
• Manage testing defects and involve relevant business staff in QA testing analysis.
• Design procedure guides and manuals for business users.
• Provide efficient service for the test analysis function with thorough analysis, planning, execution, reporting and updating of information.
• Continuously assess own performance and seek timely feedback and training.
