Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer for their Pretoria region. The role involves bridging complex automation solutions with customer needs, delivering pre-sales technical support, demos, and customized proposals across manufacturing and processing industries.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background with at least 5 years in technical sales or application engineering in industrial automation, and is proficient with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, VFDs and robotics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in technical sales, application engineering, or similar in industrial automation.
• In-depth knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMI, VFDs and robotics.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel within Pretoria and surrounding areas.
• CAD software and simulation tools proficiency is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Engage with clients in Pretoria to understand automation challenges and requirements.
• Provide expert technical consultations, product demos and solution presentations.
• Develop customized technical proposals and quotations reflecting client needs and capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure solutions meet specs.
• Support the sales team with in-depth technical knowledge during the sales cycle.
• Conduct site visits to assess systems and identify upgrade opportunities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during evaluation phases.
• Stay updated on automation advances (PLC, HMI, robotics, IIoT).
• Report on customer feedback and competitor activities in Pretoria.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with client contacts.
