Job summary

Nedbank is seeking a Platform Automation Engineer to design, build and operate secure infrastructure automation for Azure, AWS and on‑prem environments. You will help build an Infrastructure Marketplace (IDP) with governed self‑service through reusable templates and golden paths.

You will collaborate across infrastructure, cloud, security and platform teams to reduce manual work, improve resilience and implement policy‑driven automation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in infrastructure automation, cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible; practical Python and PowerShell automation.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Terraform modules and reusable IaC patterns for Azure, AWS and on‑premise infrastructure.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching and lifecycle activities using Ansible, Python and PowerShell.
• Apply modular design, naming standards, tagging, state management and policy controls across IaC solutions.
• Detect and remediate configuration drift while maintaining security baselines.
• Engineer idempotent, testable automation for compute, OS, middleware and integrations.
• Create APIs, scripts and workflows to integrate cloud and on‑premise platforms.
