Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer/Architect in Cape Town to design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud solutions. The role focuses on secure, scalable cloud infrastructures using Azure, Hitachi Vantara tech, and robust automation scripts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, solution design, or hybrid cloud implementation.
• Strong experience with Hitachi Vantara technologies (storage, backup, DR).
• Expertise in hybrid cloud architecture and solution deployment.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, etc.) and automation scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and governance. Azure certification AZ-305.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage hybrid cloud solutions (on-prem + Azure).
• Develop secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructures aligned with business needs.
• Write and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and orchestration (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams for integrated cloud solutions.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions (IaaS, BaaS, DRaaS).
• Monitor and optimize performance, security, and cost of cloud infrastructure.
• Document cloud architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
