Job summary

One Connect Technologies in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to design, implement and maintain automated systems across production lines. You will program PLCs, develop HMIs and SCADA solutions, and integrate sensors and networks for enhanced efficiency.

You will conduct commissioning, optimize performance, prepare documentation, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and IT teams while ensuring safety and quality compliance. Willingness to travel onsite is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors/ diploma in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechatronics or related field.
• Proven automation engineering experience.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems.
• Experience with industrial control systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain automated systems and processes.
• Develop and configure automation solutions to improve efficiency.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Integrate automation equipment, sensors, and networks.
• Conduct testing, commissioning, and performance optimization.
