Placements24 is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer in Centurion to design, program, and optimize automated control systems across energy projects. You will develop PLC, DCS, and SCADA solutions, build HMI interfaces, and collaborate with process engineers to meet performance goals.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, at least 5 years in automation, and hands-on experience with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and HMIs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Proficiency with programming languages for PLCs (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMIs.
• Experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Knowledge of process control loops and tuning.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and DCS systems for industrial automation.
• Develop and maintain control logic, HMI screens, and SCADA systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and automation equipment.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to define automation requirements.
• Implement system upgrades and modifications to improve performance and reliability.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices in all control system designs.
