Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to manage industrial automation projects from concept to handover, leading design, procurement, installation and commissioning while ensuring on-time delivery and safety compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years in industrial automation and proven leadership, with PLC/HMI programming, SCADA experience, and strong collaboration on complex projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
6+ years in electrical engineering with automation and project management.
Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development.
Experience with SCADA and industrial networking.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and risk assessment.
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Manage electrical aspects of automation projects including design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts and wiring diagrams using CAD.
Specify and select electrical components, PLCs, HMIs and drives.
Oversee site activities, coordinate with contractors and ensure safety compliance.
Conduct FAT and SAT tests and provide technical support during execution and handover.
Provide troubleshooting and post-completion support for control systems.
