Job summary

Mediclinic Midstream Centurion in South Africa is seeking a Stores Controller to support efficient operations by receiving, checking, storing, issuing and recording stock accurately. The role ensures an organized, secure storage environment and assists with stocktaking and internal deliveries to guarantee timely supplies for all departments.

The successful candidate will handle stock rotation per FIFO/FEFO where applicable, manage documentation, maintain store security, and uphold infection

Qualifications

• Certificate or short course in stores management, stock control, warehousing or logistics.
• One to two years’ experience in a stores or stock control environment.
• Knowledge of FIFO and FEFO principles and barcode inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check stock on arrival and ensure accurate records.
• Store and distribute stock to departments as required.
• Maintain organised, secure storage and perform regular stocktaking.
• Prepare documentation, filing and archiving to support traceability.
• Ensure stock rotation and compliance with infection prevention standards.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To support the efficient operation of the stores by receiving, checking, storing, issuing and recording stock accurately; maintaining an organised and secure storage environment; and assisting with stocktaking, document control and internal deliveries to ensure that departments receive the correct supplies on time.

Previous experience in receiving, checking, storing, picking or issuing stock in a stores, warehouse or similar environment

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

One to two years’ experience in a stores or stock control environment

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Basic stock receiving, storage, issuing and distribution procedures
• Delivery notes, requisitions, purchase orders and supporting stock documentation
• Stock rotation principles, including FIFO and FEFO where applicable
• Stocktaking procedures and the importance of accurate stock records
• Safe storage, manual handling, housekeeping and store security practices
• Procedures for reporting damaged, missing, excess or obsolete stock
• Filing, archiving, confidentiality and authorised disposal of documents
