Job summary

Headhunters in Durban is seeking a forklift operator to support materials handling and batching in the production area. The role involves weighing, marshaling raw materials, and assisting with loading to equipment, packaging, and labeling of finished products.

Applicants must hold a Matric qualification and a valid forklift license, with a commitment to safety and cleanliness in a manufacturing environment. The position is on-site at our Durban facility.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all work activities in accordance with the company’s health and safety policies.
• Expected to perform any task reasonably requested by any senior member of staff.
• Weigh out and marshal raw materials to be used in subsequent batches of Unsaturated Polyester resins and Gelcoats products, as detailed in the production schedule.
• Ensure all materials are present and have been accurately weighed out and placed in the batch marshalling area for the respective plant.
• Assist both the resin plant operator and gelcoat operator with the loading of raw materials to the respective equipment.
• Assist with Packaging and labelling of manufactured products and undertake the responsibility for packaging, labelling and placement of goods into storage.
• Accurately complete: the batch raw material marshaling document for purposes of administration, Record all components weighed out for use in the preparation of product, on the provided documents.
• Record final packaged product yields and ensure products are labelled appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping and safety in the manufacturing areas.
