Our client is looking for a Manufacturer to join their manufacturing team in Montague Gardens. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing activities according to approved manufacturing instructions, GMP standards, quality requirements, health and safety procedures, and daily production schedules.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 preferred.
- Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Manufacturer.
- Good understanding of written instructions in English.
- Neat handwriting.
- High level of focus and attention to detail to ensure compliance.
- Fit and able to carry out the physical requirements of the role.
- Personable with a good understanding of manufacturing activities.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) must be understood and adhered to.
- Ability to follow SOPs, manufacturing process instructions and work instructions.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment within the manufacturing department at the required level.
- Understanding and adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work according to ISO 9001 and GMP 22716 standards.
- Good teamwork and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend daily manufacturing meetings and understand the manufacturing jobs, equipment requirements and priorities for the day.
- Locate manufacturing jobs on the picking rack in the manufacturing job holding area.
- Check and cross-reference raw materials against the manufacturing M Code/job card.
- Report any discrepancies or queries regarding raw materials to the Manufacturing Team Leader.
- Check manufacturing instructions and arrange raw materials in the correct sequence for each manufacturing phase.
- Check that required manufacturing equipment is available, clean and meets GMP standards.
- Ensure required GMP safety equipment is available before starting a batch.
- Locate and follow the manufacturing process instruction attached to the relevant job card.
- Complete the required information in the product description field.
- Follow manufacturing process instructions accurately for each phase of production.
- Check raw material codes and ensure materials are added during the correct manufacturing phase.
- Sign off each manufacturing phase to confirm accuracy and completion.
- Complete required product testing to ensure the completed batch is within specification.
- Submit samples to the laboratory for sign-off.
- Stop the manufacturing process and report concerns, questions or queries to the Manufacturing Team Leader.
- Ensure daily manufacturing targets are achieved according to required delivery times and production schedules.
- Ensure manufacturing equipment is clean, sanitised and in good working condition.
- Maintain GMP housekeeping standards.
- Complete daily logs for activities such as cleaning, filtration and calibration of scales.
- Ensure materials and equipment are used according to approved manufacturing process instructions.
- Check and sign off batches and each phase of the manufacturing process.
- Ensure product quality meets the signed-off customer sample and product requirements.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Wear the required protective clothing and equipment in the manufacturing area.
- Assist the Manufacturing Team Leader with identifying and resolving unsafe working conditions and practices.
- Recognise system deficiencies and assist with implementing effective solutions.
- Suggest improvements to internal manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a high standard of preventative maintenance awareness and report machinery requiring maintenance to the Maintenance Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing effectiveness and efficiency.
- Complete and update manufacturing process instructions.
- Manage daily cleaning schedules.
- Complete and control product tags identifying manufactured products.
- Ensure accurate document control is maintained.
- Ensure all required SOP and equipment training has been completed and report where additional training is required.
- Carry out ad hoc duties as reasonably instructed.
- Follow changes to work methods, policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Work effectively as part of a team in busy or congested areas.
- Maintain acceptable workplace conduct and good teamwork.
