Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and guest-focused Assistant Lodge Manager to join a luxury 5-star safari lodge in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. This role supports the Lodge Manager in delivering exceptional service, supervising lodge teams, overseeing guest relations, stock control and cost management, with live-in accommodation.

Required: 3–5 years in a five-star setting, leadership, POS and PMS knowledge, strong communication and organisational skills, and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or related hospitality qualification.
• 3–5 years' experience in a 5-star establishment as an Assistant Lodge Manager or equivalent.
• Experience in luxury safari lodge operations and guest service management.
• Proven ability to supervise, train and develop lodge teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lodge operations in the Lodge Manager's absence.
• Support the Lodge Manager to deliver exceptional guest service.
• Supervise, train and develop lodge teams and shift staff.
• Manage stock control, cash handling and cost management.

NOW HIRING: Assistant Lodge Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Grahamstown, Eastern Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and guest-focused Assistant Lodge Manager to join a luxury 5-star safari lodge in the Eastern Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional with strong lodge operations and guest relations experience to support the Lodge Manager in delivering exceptional service and maintaining world-class hospitality standards.

Key Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or a related hospitality qualification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience within a 5-star establishment as an Assistant Lodge Manager, Duty Manager or Guest Relations Manager.
• Previous luxury safari lodge experience will be highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in lodge operations and guest service management.
• Good working knowledge of POS and PMS systems.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train and develop lodge teams.
• Excellent guest relations skills with experience managing special requests and guest feedback.
• Strong understanding of stock control, cash handling and cost management.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to confidently oversee lodge operations in the absence of the Lodge Manager.
• Valid driver's licence is essential.

Package

• Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
