Job summary

Trending Talent is seeking an Asset Controller in Durban to manage fixed asset tracking, verification, and reporting. The role focuses on accurate asset data, depreciation, and compliance with financial controls within a BPO environment.

The position requires 1–2 years in asset management or accounting, a finance-related qualification, and proficiency with asset management systems (Assetzure). Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 with NQF4 or equivalent; finance/commerce qualification preferred.
• 1–2 years’ asset management, finance or accounting experience.
• Experience with asset management systems, preferably Assetzure.
• Strong numerical and accounting aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fixed asset tracking system with accurate data.
• Assess asset condition and flag impairment or write-offs with documentation.
• Update asset locations in the tracking system after relocations.
• Verify assets against delivery notes and purchase orders; correct cost, category, location, depreciation.
• Reconcile Fixed Asset Register to General Ledger; prepare monthly depreciation schedules.
• Review PPE postings to identify capitalization or allocation changes.
• Conduct regular asset counts and site walkthroughs; locate missing or untagged assets.
• Prepare monthly asset addition reports and PPE forecasting for budgeting.
