Job summary

Edgexec (Pty) Ltd in South Africa seeks a Finance Manager to oversee fixed assets and reporting. You will lead the fixed asset function, manage depreciation, impairment, and disposals, and ensure asset register integrity.

Collaboration with operations and projects on capex is essential. You will drive monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, assist with annual financial statements, and provide budgeting insights.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a recognised professional accounting designation (CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Experience in financial reporting and fixed asset management within a large corporate environment.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, especially IAS 16, and audit coordination exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead fixed asset accounting in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee capitalisation, depreciation, impairment, revaluation and disposal.
• Maintain integrity of the fixed asset register and asset verification.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement and Projects on capex treatment.
• Monitor capex against budgets and investigate variances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Support annual financial statements and governance inputs.
• Provide insights for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.
• Be the finance lead for internal and external audits and address findings.
• Drive controls, process improvements and develop the Fixed Assets team.

Our client, a well-established player with a complex operational footprint and a significant fixed asset portfolio, is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to oversee fixed assets and reporting functions. This is a unique opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and ensure financial integrity across a dynamic enterprise.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and govern the fixed asset accounting function in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee capitalisation, depreciation, impairment, revaluation, and disposal accounting.
• Maintain the integrity and completeness of the fixed asset register.
• Lead physical asset verification and reconciliation processes.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Projects on capital expenditure treatment.
• Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets and investigate variances.
• Prepare, review, and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate fixed asset balances, disclosures, and statutory reporting inputs.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Provide reporting inputs for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Produce management reporting and financial insights relating to capital investment and asset performance.
• Act as a key finance contact for internal and external audits.
• Strengthen financial controls and address audit findings and control deficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and internal governance standards.
• Provide financial guidance to business stakeholders on asset-related matters.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members within the Fixed Assets and Reporting function.
• Drive process improvement, accountability, and technical capability across the team.

Requirements:

• CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• 5-8 years' post-qualification experience in financial reporting and/or fixed asset management.
• Strong experience managing complex fixed asset portfolios within a large corporate environment.
• Proven statutory reporting and audit management experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 16.
• Proficiency in Asset Management, Financial Reporting, IT Management, and SAP.

Familiarity with the following:

• IFRS standards and compliance.
• SAP ERP systems.
• Asset management best practices.
