Job summary

Mediclinic International is seeking a Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning artisan to ensure that all equipment, plant, building, and services remain functional and safe. This on-site, permanent role requires deep technical expertise and a proactive maintenance mindset.

The ideal candidate has more than five years of relevant experience, a trade-test certification in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, and a valid driver’s licence.

• More than 5 years of artisan experience in refrigeration/air-conditioning.
• Trade test certification in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical jobs within the locality and maintain equipment, plant, and services according to Mediclinic standards.
• Perform administration duties within the technical function.
• Execute planned maintenance tasks as allocated.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks within the locality.
• Coordinate on-site contractor work within the locality.
• Maintain client and stakeholder relations within the technical function.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MININUM EXPERIENCE: More than 5 years’ of artisan (Refrigeration/ Air-Conditioning artisan) experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Appropriate trade test-certified (Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning).

DESIRED EDUCATION: N/A

ESSENTIAL CERTIFICATION: Trade test certificate; and valid driver's licence.

DESIRED CERTIFICATION: Registered SAQCC-Gas (only applicable to South African air-conditioning artisans)

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Trade-specific skills and knowledge – proficiency relative to the role
• Trade-specific policies, procedures, guidelines, and relevant legislature
• Fault finding and troubleshooting
• Planned maintenance according to set Mediclinic standards
• Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (e.g. OHS and ISO)
• Mentoring of technical team members
