Job summary

Bidvest Facilities Management is seeking a skilled HVAC technician in South Africa's Western Cape to perform planned and emergency maintenance on air-conditioning and water reticulation systems. You will install, commission and inspect equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, client's SLAs and job plans.

The role requires 5–8 years in HVAC maintenance with trade qualifications to perform on-site fault rectification and system optimization, with proficiency in MS Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Matric (Senior Certificate) required.
• N3–N6 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Trade-Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration) required.
• Valid SA Driver’s License.
• 5–8 years in air-conditioning equipment maintenance with digital control systems, min 3 years in trade.
• Maintenance of air-conditioning equipment & water reticulation systems.
• MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook at an intermediate level.
• SAP knowledge.
• Knowledge of OHS Act.

Responsibilities

• Implement equipment service specifications in accordance with Client and Company requirements.
• Install & commission air-conditioning and water reticulation equipment in accordance to specification.
• Conduct maintenance on air-conditioning & water reticulation equipment as per schedule, preventative or emergency fault rectification.
• Perform inspection of facility, air-conditioning equipment on site, identify areas of risk and report back for rectification.
• Ensure that preventative or emergency fault rectification complies with the relevant legislation, SLA and job plans.
• Ensure quality of work and timeous completion of all field request.
• Provide constant feedback to the Supervisor & Client on restoration of operations.

Education

Matric (Senior Certificate)

N3 - N6 in Mechanical Engineering

Trade-Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration)

Additional Trade-Test in Electrical advantageous

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
