Job summary

Omnia Group Careers is seeking an Artisan Fitter to inspect, maintain and repair mechanical equipment at the Sasolburg site. You will execute planned maintenance, diagnose faults and support shutdowns while helping improve equipment reliability in a safety-first, 5S-driven environment.

Ideal candidates hold Grade 12 with Math/Science, a Red Seal in Fitting, and N2/N3 engineering qualifications, with 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
• N2 or N3 Engineering qualification.
• Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) in Fitting or Fitting and Turning.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, systems, motors and pumps.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and strategic maintenance activities.
• Carry out maintenance inspections and provide feedback to improve equipment reliability.
• Perform shutdown maintenance safely and within timelines.
• Apply fault-finding techniques to diagnose issues and drive corrective actions.
• Support MTBF targets through effective maintenance execution and equipment care.
• Monitor downtime and incidents on strategic plant assets.
• Assist in spare parts management and procurement support.
• Conduct maintenance quality control reviews and ensure PPM compliance.
• Plan, coordinate and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to safety standards and 5S in the workplace.
