Job summary

The Key Recruitment Group is seeking a Service & Repair Technician (Electrician) for a Medical Services company in Tokai/Westlake, Cape Town. You will repair, service and refurbish medical equipment, both in workshop and in hospitals as needed.

Required: N4–N6 in Electrical Engineering, Trade Tested Electrician, 10+ years post-apprenticeship experience, valid license, and solid communication skills. Transport and health status required. Residence within 30km of Tokai is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have N4–N6 in Electrical Engineering or better.
• Trade Tested Electrician with relevant certification.
• At least 10 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
• No criminal record and good health.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to update records.
• Familiarity with OHSA Act 85 of 1993.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Residency within 30km of Tokai/Westlake is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle feedback and provide technical advice to hospitals and Area Sales Managers via email or phone.
• Work in workshop and possibly in the field to install, repair, maintain and service medical equipment.
• Update computer database with service records for equipment.
• Manage and order spare parts for medical equipment.
• Undertake refurbishment of existing medical equipment (electrical/electronic/mechanical).
• Perform fault-finding on equipment.

A Medical Services company which provides cost effective, quality healthcare products and services to Southern Africa have an opportunity for a Service & Repair Technician (Electrician) at their head office in Tokai/Westlake, Cape Town.

Purpose of the Role

To repair and service medical equipment.

Candidate Requirements

• N4 - N6 in Electrical Engineering or better.
• Be a Trade Tested Electrician
• Minimum of 10 years' post apprenticeship experience.
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
• No criminal record.
• Good general mechanical knowledge.
• In excellent health.
• Computer literate, professional with sound verbal and written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Reliable, hardworking, and organised (adherence to good housekeeping protocols).
• Stay within the Southern Suburbs area or within a 30km radius of Tokai/Westlake. (Advantageous).

Main responsibilities (but not limited to these only)

• Handling of feedback, advice regarding technical queries from hospitals and Area Sales Managers via e-mail or telephone/cell phone.
• Working in the workshop and sometimes in the field (hospitals as and when required) daily to install, repair, maintain and service client's medical equipment.
• Updating the database on computer of records of servicing of medical equipment.
• Managing and ordering associated spare parts for the medical equipment.
• Undertake electrical/electronic/mechanical refurbishment of existing medical equipment.
• Equipment fault-finding.
