Ideal candidates hold a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, have 4+ years drafting high-rise projects, and possess strong knowledge of SA building regulations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an Architectural Drafter, preferably on high-rise projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details) in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate drawings with structural, mechanical, and electrical consultants.
• Ensure drawings comply with codes, standards, and project specs.
• Prepare and update construction documentation through project lifecycle.
• Assist in site visits to verify conditions and gather data.
• Support BIM coordination where applicable.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic architectural firm actively involved in high-rise residential and commercial developments in Sandton , Gauteng, is seeking a skilled Architectural Drafter. This role is crucial for translating architectural designs into precise and comprehensive construction documentation. You will work closely with architects and project teams to produce detailed drawings, plans, and elevations using advanced CAD software. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional technical drafting skills, a meticulous eye for detail, and a solid understanding of building systems and regulations. We are looking for a proactive individual who can efficiently produce accurate technical drawings and support the design and construction process. Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and details, using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assist architects in developing design concepts and preparing presentation materials.
• Coordinate drawings with consultants, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Prepare and update construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review shop drawings and material submittals for compliance with design intent.
• Maintain organized digital and physical drawing archives.
• Assist in site visits to gather information and verify conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of drawings.
• Support the BIM coordination process where applicable.

Requirements

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or Draughting.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Architectural Drafter, with exposure to high-rise projects being a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
• Understanding of architectural design principles and construction methods.
• Strong knowledge of South African building regulations and National Building Regulations (NBR).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software is a plus.
