Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Drafter on a contract basis to translate design concepts into precise construction drawings. This remote role requires delivering detailed plans for residential, commercial, and institutional projects while collaborating with our distributed team of architects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in architectural drafting, expert AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with South African building regulations.

Qualificações

• National Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architectural Drafter.
• Advanced AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience is a significant advantage.
• Strong knowledge of SA building regulations and drafting conventions.

Responsabilidades

• Produce detailed architectural drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections and details) using CAD.
• Develop and manage 2D and 3D models for construction documentation.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with architects and project managers to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare drawing sets for concept to construction administration.
• Update drawings based on design changes and feedback.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and material schedules.
• Maintain organized digital filing systems for all project drawings.
• Collaborate with remote team members via digital platforms.
• Adhere to drafting standards and best practices.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned architectural consultancy with a diverse project portfolio, is actively seeking a highly proficient Senior Architectural Drafter to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in translating complex design concepts into accurate and detailed construction documentation. Working remotely, you will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to produce high-quality drawings and specifications for a range of projects, including residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• National Diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Drafter or similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit or other BIM software is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of architectural drafting conventions, symbols, and terminology.
• Excellent knowledge of South African building regulations and construction practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with a distributed team.
