Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Aquatics Program Coordinator in East London to manage and enhance its aquatic facilities and programs. You will oversee swim lessons, water aerobics, and competitive swim activities while ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for participants.

The role includes lifeguard supervision, program development, and community outreach to promote water safety and fitness within the Eastern Cape, supporting growth of vibrant aquatic programs.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard certification and WSI are mandatory.
• 3+ years in aquatics programming and facility management.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, safety regs, and emergency protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience with competitive swimming programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and promote aquatics programs (lessons, water aerobics, competitive swimming).
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise aquatic staff (lifeguards and instructors).
• Maintain pool facilities to high safety, cleanliness, and efficiency standards.
• Implement and enforce aquatic safety policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct lifeguard training and recertification sessions as required.
• Manage program budgets and revenue from fees and rentals.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Aquatics Program Coordinator to manage and enhance their aquatic facilities and programs in East London . This role involves overseeing swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and competitive swim team activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for all participants. You will be responsible for lifeguard supervision, program development, and community outreach to promote water safety and fitness. This position is vital for promoting water-based recreation and skill development within the Eastern Cape community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and promote a comprehensive range of aquatics programs, including swim lessons, water aerobics, and competitive swim.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise aquatic staff, including lifeguards and instructors.
• Ensure the pool facility is maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and enforce all aquatic safety policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct lifeguard training and recertification sessions as required.
• Manage program budgets, including revenue generation from fees and facility rentals.

Requirements

• Current Lifeguard certification and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification are mandatory.
