Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aquatics Centre Manager to lead operations at the George facility. You will ensure safe and engaging use of the aquatic spaces by the public, members, and clubs, while directing staff and program development.

The ideal candidate has a relevant pool/recreation management qualification, 5+ years of leadership in aquatic facilities, strong knowledge of pool operations and safety, and a track record in budget control and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Pool Management, Recreation Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing aquatic facilities or sports centres.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water quality management, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated experience in staff management and budget control.
• Current lifeguarding and first aid certifications are essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day operations of the aquatic centre, including pool maintenance, safety protocols, and staff supervision.
• Develop, market, and manage a diverse range of aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, fitness classes, and competitive events.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and lifeguarding regulations and standards.
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation for the centre.
• Recruit, train, and supervise lifeguards, instructors, and administrative staff.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aquatics Centre Manager to oversee operations at their facility in George . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and enjoyable use of the aquatic facilities by the public, members, and various sporting groups. You will be responsible for managing staff, implementing operational procedures, and developing programs that cater to a wide range of users, from learn-to-swim classes to competitive swimming teams. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, a commitment to safety standards, and a passion for promoting aquatic activities and water safety within the Western Cape community.
