Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of the aquatics centre, including scheduling and staffing.
• Develop and promote swim lessons, fitness classes and team support.
• Enforce health, safety and emergency procedures and lifeguard oversight.
• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise aquatics staff and admins.
• Manage the centre budget, revenue and expenditure control.
• Engage with community groups and clubs to boost usage and participation.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Aquatics Centre Manager to lead their state-of-the-art facility in Benoni . This leadership role involves overseeing all operations, including program management, staff supervision, safety protocols, and financial performance. You will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality experience for all patrons, from competitive swimmers to casual visitors. The ideal candidate possesses strong management skills, a commitment to aquatic safety and programming, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment for staff and members alike.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of the aquatics centre, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Develop, implement, and promote a variety of aquatic programs, including swim lessons, fitness classes, and competitive team support.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and emergency procedures, including lifeguard supervision and facility maintenance.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise aquatics staff, including lifeguards, instructors, and administrative personnel.
• Manage the aquatics centre budget, overseeing revenue generation and expenditure control.
• Liaise with community groups, sports clubs, and educational institutions to promote facility usage and program participation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aquatic facility management or a similar supervisory role in the recreation or sports industry.
• Current Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications are mandatory; pool operator certification is preferred.
• Strong understanding of aquatic programming, safety regulations, and facility maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and drive program participation.
