Application & Sales Specialist- Medical Technology (DORC)
Your Role: To maintain and grow the current install base of DORC Equipment and Consumables business in the inland region of South Africa. Contributes to the achievement of annual revenue and profit targets by implementing branding and promotional strategies. Builds and maintains customer relationships in order to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and retention. Manages large, assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell in a defined varied category of company products, services and solutions within a designated geography or industry. Consults customers with a very high level of consultancy, addresses customer’s needs, queries and complaints; records and manages direct customer feedback. Focuses on meeting personal sales targets, new business development, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Continuously monitors market trends and engages in high-intensity sales negotiations.
- Proactively seek out new sales opportunities and convert to sales
- Applications support and maintenance of the company’s product portfolio installed base
- Identify potential customers and present product/service offerings to meet their needs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers
- Provide excellent customer service and support to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Develop a deep understanding of our products/services and effectively communicate their features, benefits, and value proposition to customers
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
- Use market insights to identify opportunities for growth and stay ahead of the competition
- Keep accurate records of sales activities, including customer interactions, sales calls, and sales pipeline status
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations
- Work closely with other members of the sales team, as well as with marketing, customer service, and other departments, to achieve company objectives and provide a seamless customer experience
- From time to time provide additional support of the company’s full portfolio in the region for devices and related consumables
- Support Key Opinion leaders in Ophthalmology
You will have
Education / Professional Certification
- Degree in scientific, engineering, technical or product related field or graduation from a higher institution, or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Science / Optometry Degree or other relevant tertiary qualification
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field (as applicable)
You will ideally have Experience
- 3-5 years professional experience in Medical Sales, ideally in the area of Ophthalmology
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in a B2B or B2C environment, with a proven track record of achieving targets
- Experience in training
- Demonstrated ability to network and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce software
- Knowledge and experience in the theatre environment
- Excellent knowledge of the Ophthalmology market in the region
