Job summary

Old Mutual Limited in South Africa seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to translate complex business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria within an agile squad. You will collaborate with Product Management, UI/UX, Technology and SMEs to map processes and backlog items, ensuring value delivery.

You will facilitate discovery workshops, define journeys and workflows, analyse APIs and data flows, and support testing to validate solutions and stakeholder buy-in.

Qualifications

• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification; BA/IT qualification.
• Business Analysis certification (Advantageous).
• 5+ years experience as a business analyst or systems analyst in a senior/strategic role.
• Agile experience with understanding of methodology and principles.
• Strong understanding of APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML) and API design standards.
• Data model design and management; cross-functional collaboration & governance.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Figma and MIRO.
• Education NQF Level 7 - Degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clarify business requirements and translate into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Product Owner and agile team to understand epics and features.
• Analyse data, API and system integration requirements and build artefacts.
• Facilitate discovery workshops and map user journeys and workflows.
• Support testing, validation, and stakeholder communication throughout the sprint.
