AOC Accountable Manager — Aviation Ops Leader

Job summary

Starlite Aviation Group seeks an experienced AOC Accountable Manager to assume executive accountability for the operational activities and performance of its international and domestic SACAA-licensed operations in Durban.

You will lead the AOC organisation, define strategy and objectives, ensure quality, safety and environmental considerations are embedded in decisions, and drive continuous improvement across helicopter, fixed-wing and RPAS operations.

Qualifications

• A Pilot licence – CPL minimum.
• Business Management Diploma or Degree.
• Safety and Quality Assurance certification.
• Approximately eight years' senior management experience in civil aviation.
• Approximately eight years' senior management experience in flight operations, maintenance, safety management and/or quality management.
• Strong technical and operational knowledge of Helicopter, Fixed Wing and RPAS operations.
• Sound knowledge of regulations and requirements applicable to the operational environment.
• English: High level of proficiency; French advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership to the AOC organisation and create the structure, resources, systems, processes and controls required to achieve Starlite Aviation's operational and business objectives.
• Define strategy, objectives and goals of the business, monitor industry trends, opportunities and threats, and adapt the organisation's approach as required.
• Embed Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental considerations in operational and business decision-making.
• Develop and implement systems and controls across all areas within the AOC.
• Ensure compliance with SACAA regulatory requirements and operational approvals.
• Provide input into fleet planning, aircraft additions/disposals and associated business decisions.
• Maintain systems and behaviours required to sustain aviation approvals and accreditations.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
• Ensure operations are executed safely and in accordance with company requirements.
