Placements24 is seeking an Analytical Development Chemist to join their R&D department in Mahikeng. The role focuses on developing, validating, and transferring robust analytical methods for new drug substances and raw materials.

You will work closely with formulation scientists and process engineers, applying HPLC, UPLC, and GC to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance while supporting development from early stages through commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytical method development and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency with analytical instruments, particularly HPLC, UPLC, and GC.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical quality systems, GMP, and regulatory requirements (ICH).
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication for scientific reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods for drug substances and products.
• Characterize materials and finished products using analytical techniques.
• Perform stability studies and determine shelf-life and storage conditions.
• Troubleshoot analytical issues during method development and routine testing.
• Prepare validation protocols, reports, and regulatory submission sections.
• Transfer methods to Quality Control laboratories for routine testing.
• Stay current with literature, new analytical technologies, and regulatory guidelines.
