Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our client’s Quality Control laboratory in Upington. The role focuses on performing analytical tests to ensure the quality, purity, and potency of pharmaceutical materials, using instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and KF, within GMP-compliant procedures.

You will develop and validate methods, document results accurately, troubleshoot instruments, and contribute to a culture of quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry.
• Experience with HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and KF preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP and pharmacopeial standards.
• Strong data interpretation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and KF.
• Develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods as required.
• Accurately document all testing activities and results according to GMP and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve method-related issues.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure regulatory compliance.
