Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Analytical Chemist for their Kimberley laboratory to perform broad analytical testing on materials and finished products. You will use GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP and FTIR, develop and validate methods, and ensure data quality in a quality-controlled laboratory environment.

The role emphasizes meticulous data interpretation, accurate reporting, and adherence to regulatory standards within the mining and industrial sectors in the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry specialization.
• At least 3 years of hands-on analytical laboratory experience.
• Proficiency operating GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP and FTIR instruments.
• Strong data interpretation and precise reporting skills.
• Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy in Kimberley.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Operate and maintain GC, HPLC, AAS, ICP, FTIR equipment.
• Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods.
• Interpret data, prepare reports, and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot analytical equipment and methodologies.
