Job summary

The Analyst, Quality Assurance (QA) is a member of the Information Technology (IT) team and is responsible for executing functional system testing for software components to ensure enterprise systems perform as designed and meet business requirements.

The tester works across the department with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to develop test scripts, automate where possible, document results, and support SDLC improvements.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in functional system testing (planning, scripting & maintenance).
• Experience testing large-scale systems, preferably in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of CRM/ERP testing; Salesforce or Ellucian Banner preferred.

Analyst, Quality Assurance

The Analyst, Quality Assurance (QA) is a member of the Information Technology (IT) team and is responsible for executing functional system testing for software components to ensure that enterprise systems and programs perform as per the designed specifications and business requirements. The tester works collaboratively across the department and alongside cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Create test case templates to facilitate the mapping of manual test cases to automation test cases
• Develop test scripts and load models for performance testing based on system requirements, processes, and user stories
• Execute software testing for new and existing enterprise systems, utilizing a variety of technologies, including responsive design systems, mobile devices, web services, and ETL jobs
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the project lead in support of determining requirements for testing needs within a system or platform feature
• Execute End-to-End Test Automation and Tools Strategies/Roadmaps, including performance and load testing (as needed)
• Document performance testing results accurately (as needed)
• Execute software test plans, test cases, and scripts and scenarios in accordance with current procedures and methodologies to accurately describe test scope and test schedules
• Document defects identified and review risk analysis points with leadership
• Participate in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process improvement initiatives to provide gap analysis and recommendations for the resolution of issues
• Support in conducting compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs
• Support in monitoring program performance after implementation to prevent recurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development methodology
• Demonstrated experience with: API Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, Quality Assurance Services
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities based on institutional need
• Desire for continual professional growth and self-motivation to achieve goals

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three (3) plus years of experience in functional system testing, including planning, assessments, script development & maintenance, preferably in a cloud environment
• Minimum of three (3) plus years of experience with testing large-scale systems
• Working knowledge of testing integrated CRM and ERP systems. Salesforce and/or Ellucian Banner is strongly preferred.

Hours and Travel

• A typical work week is Monday through Friday, 9am to 5 pm
• Flexible hours required to implement strategy, enterprise initiatives, and execute deliverables
• Must be flexible in coming in early, working late, or during non-work hours as needed
