Job summary

The Foschini Group seeks an Allocator to support the Merchandise Strategy through store and merchandise analysis. You will liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre to manage stock levels, deliveries, and queries, ensuring timely stock movement.

You will work with Planners and Buyers to implement the distribution strategy, perform stock and sizing analyses, monitor delivery performance, and conduct regular store visits while maintaining strong communication with Operations.

Qualifications

• Matric essential with relevant tertiary qualification.
• 1–2 store allocations experience required.
• High numeracy with analytical, detailed and strategic approach.
• Excel data analysis and ability to draw inferences.
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking.

Responsibilities

• Strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through DC to stores.
• Formulate and execute a merchandise distribution strategy and act as a contact for stores and operations.
• Collaborate with Planners and Buyers to implement the Merchandise Strategy.
• Store and merchandise-related analysis (style and sizing).
• Monitor stock delivery and take action; manage replenishment.

The Allocator is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Merchandise Strategy by conducting store and merchandise-related analysis. They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

They liaise with suppliers, stores, and the Distribution Centre regarding stock levels, deliveries, and general queries, ensuring effective stock management and timely delivery of stock.

Responsibilities

• The portfolio entails the strategic inbound and outbound management of inventory from supplier through the DC and finally to stores.
• Allocators are also responsible for formulating and executing a merchandise distribution strategy, as well as act as a point of contact for stores and operations for product requirements and require dedicated administration.
• Working with Planners and Buyers to fully implement the Merchandise Strategy
• Store and merchandise-related (style and sizing) analysis
• Monitoring the delivery of stock and take appropriate action
• Replenishment management
• Effective communication with stores & Operations.
• Monitoring product performance to take appropriate action
• Regular store visits where appropriate

Qualifications

• Matric essential (+ Relevant Tertiary Qualification)
• 1-2 Store allocations experience required
• A high degree of numeracy and an analytical, detailed and strategic approach to work
• Excelsat data analysis and the ability to draw inferences
• Strong business acumen and merchant thinking
