Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of airport ground equipment in Port Elizabeth. You will diagnose, service, and repair pushback tractors, belt loaders, aircraft stairs, and related systems to keep airport operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or Technician, with specific experience on GSE preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various types of ground support equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair of engines, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical controls.
• Ensure all GSE is maintained in safe working order and complies with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies to minimize disruptions.
