This role ensures accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of maintenance records, supporting airworthiness and safe operations.

You will organize, file, and audit records, collaborate with maintenance teams, and coordinate with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in aircraft technical records management or similar aviation admin role
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance processes and terminology
• Familiar with SACAA regulations and documentation requirements
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office; AMOS/Trax a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage all aircraft technical records (logs, ADs, SBs, component history cards)
• Ensure maintenance activities are documented per aviation regulations and procedures
• Conduct regular audits of technical records for accuracy and completeness
• Process and file incoming maintenance documentation promptly and orderly
• Assist in preparing aircraft for heavy/base maintenance by ensuring required docs are available
• Liaise with maintenance teams, engineers, and regulatory bodies on records matters
• Respond to inquiries and provide necessary documentation on request
• Archive old records per retention policies
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all technical documentation
• Contribute to improving record-keeping processes

About the Role

Our client, a reputable aviation maintenance organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Aircraft Technical Records Officer to manage aircraft documentation and records at their facility in **Upington, Northern Cape**. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage all aircraft technical records, including maintenance logs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and component history cards.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are accurately documented and recorded in compliance with aviation regulations (SACAA) and company procedures.
• Perform regular audits of technical records to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Process and file incoming maintenance documentation in a timely and organized manner.
• Assist in preparing aircraft for heavy maintenance checks and base maintenance visits by ensuring all required documentation is readily available.
• Liaise with maintenance teams, engineers, and external regulatory bodies on matters related to technical records.
• Respond to inquiries regarding aircraft records and provide necessary documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in aviation administration or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft technical records management or a similar administrative role within aviation maintenance.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance processes and terminology.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations and documentation requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Knowledge of aircraft maintenance software (e.g., AMOS, Trax) is a plus.
