Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Structures Engineer to join their Mossel Bay engineering team. The role focuses on ensuring the structural integrity, safety and performance of aircraft by analyzing, designing and testing structural components, from concept to maintenance.

You will use FEA tools (NASTRAN, ANSYS), perform stress and fatigue analyses, develop test plans, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar FEA tools.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the structural integrity of aircraft components and assemblies using advanced engineering principles and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
• Design and develop new aircraft structures or modifications to existing ones, ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards and performance requirements.
• Conduct stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, and damage tolerance evaluations for critical structural parts.
• Develop and execute test plans for structural components and assemblies, interpreting results and documenting findings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production and oversee structural repairs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for structural designs and analyses.
