Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Structures Engineer in Mossel Bay to join our client’s engineering team. The role focuses on analyzing, designing, and testing aircraft structural components to ensure safety and performance throughout the lifecycle.

You will work on structural integrity assessments, develop modifications, and collaborate with production to ensure feasible designs, while documenting findings and preparing detailed reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience in aircraft structures design, analysis, or testing.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as NASTRAN.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the structural integrity of aircraft components and assemblies using engineering principles and FEA tools.
• Design and develop new aircraft structures or modifications to existing ones to meet airworthiness standards and performance needs.
• Conduct stress analysis, fatigue life assessment, and damage tolerance evaluations for critical parts.
• Develop and execute test plans for structural components and assemblies, interpreting results and documenting findings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production and oversee structural repairs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for structural designs and analyses.
