Job summary

Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape seeks an Aircraft Structure Technician to inspect, repair and maintain aircraft airframes using sheet metal, composites and riveting. You will read blueprints and repair manuals, perform NDT inspections and ensure all work meets aviation standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Aircraft Structure Technician or similar role.
• Read and interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Knowledge of aircraft materials and corrosion prevention.

Responsibilities

• Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion and wear using visual inspection and NDT methods.
• Perform repairs to airframes including sheet metal, composite repairs and component replacements.
• Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and aviation regulations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Structure Technician to join their MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility in Upington . This role focuses on inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft airframes. You will work with various materials, including aluminum, composites, and sheet metal, ensuring all repairs meet stringent aviation standards. The ideal candidate possesses excellent manual dexterity, a thorough understanding of structural repair techniques, and a commitment to safety and quality in the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, and wear, utilizing visual inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
• Perform repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, composite repairs, and component replacements.
• Read and interpret structural repair manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all structural repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and aviation regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and environmental standards in Upington .
