Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic with a focus on structural repair in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will maintain airframes, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with aviation standards to uphold airworthiness and fleet reliability.

Qualifications

  • A recognized Aircraft Mechanic qualification or equivalent trade certification.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Aircraft Mechanic with a focus on structural repair to join their dedicated maintenance team in Tembisa . In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of aircraft, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory aviation standards. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious environment that values meticulous craftsmanship and teamwork, contributing directly to the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet, and playing a key part in upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine structural inspections and identify any damage, corrosion, or wear on aircraft airframes.
  • Execute repairs to aircraft structures, including patching, riveting, and replacing damaged components according to approved technical data.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals to guide structural repair procedures.
  • Ensure all repairs meet airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all structural maintenance performed, including materials used and time spent.
  • Assist in the overall maintenance and servicing of aircraft as required by the maintenance schedule.
Requirements
  • A recognized qualification as an Aircraft Mechanic or equivalent trade certification.
  • Proven experience in aircraft structural repair, preferably on commercial or transport category aircraft.
  • Proficiency in using sheet metal tools, riveting equipment, and other structural repair instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, engineering drawings, and repair schemes.
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Good physical condition and ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
