Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Aircraft Dispatcher to oversee flight planning and operational control for a Queenstown-based fleet, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

You will monitor weather, calculate fuel, plan routes, issue flight plans, and coordinate with ATC, maintenance, and crews. A valid Aircraft Dispatcher license and 2–3 years in flight planning are required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Aircraft Dispatcher license or equivalent certification (e.g., Flight Operations Officer).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in flight planning or operational control within an airline environment.
• Familiarity with meteorology, aerodynamics, and navigation principles; knowledge of ATC procedures and SA-CARs Part 121/135.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare flight schedules, including routes, altitudes, and timings.
• Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and ATC information in real-time.
• Calculate and ensure adequate fuel loads, adhering to safety margins and regulatory requirements.
• Issue flight plans and necessary operational information to flight crews before departure.
• Coordinate with ATC, maintenance, and other departments to manage disruptions or emergencies.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
